Before samples are assessed

Label the bottle and closure formats so the recommendation is based on traceable evidence.

Send enough representative samples to show normal production variation and identify each bottle/closure combination clearly. Confirm sample quantity and delivery arrangements with Lancing before dispatching fragile bottles or bulk closures.

Bottle and closure information

  • Bottle drawing or supplier reference, height, diameter, neck bore and neck-face details.
  • T‑cork top diameter and height, shank diameter and length, material and any directional decoration.
  • Measured minimum, typical and maximum values where batch variation is known.
  • Desired finished height, permitted cosmetic marks and any retention or opening test already specified.

Production and machine information

  • Target good bottles per minute or hour, batch size and shift pattern.
  • Manual, semi-automatic, linear automatic or rotary preference, if already defined.
  • Existing conveyor height, direction, speed, bottle spacing and available footprint.
  • Power, compressed air, guarding, hygiene, changeover, installation and support requirements.
Do not send unsupported performance assumptions as acceptance criteria. State the business target, then allow the sample trial to determine the practical machine setting and any feeder, chuck, guide or bottle-support changes required.

Use the compatibility checklist to prepare dimensions and the machine comparison to identify the most relevant starting route.

Fast-track enquiry checklist

Include the information that lets Lancing separate machine scope from packaging uncertainty.

Attach or describe the bottle, closure, target output, finished-height standard, machine boundary and evidence already available. Where samples have not yet been checked, state this clearly so the quotation can include the correct trial route.

Fastest useful enquiry

Include the details that let Lancing separate a machine requirement from a packaging issue.

A short enquiry can still be useful if it contains the bottle, closure, finished-result and line-boundary information. If any of these are unknown, state that clearly so the first reply can focus on what needs proving.

RFQ checklist

Use the checklist to prepare dimensions, samples, output target and acceptance criteria before requesting a quotation.

Distillery projects

Use this route when batch size, operator time and bottle finish determine the automation level.

Safety and installation

Use this route when the enquiry involves guarding, compressed air, flammable product or integration with existing equipment.

Before sending the enquiry

Useful preparation pages for a faster machine recommendation.

These guides help you decide what sample, line and acceptance information to include before Lancing reviews the project.

RFQ checklist

Gather bottle, closure, output, line-boundary and acceptance information.

Quality checks

Define finished-height and cosmetic inspection before trials.

Output rate

Separate desired speed from accepted good bottles per minute.
